When we discovered an unassuming tweet from a prolific Shipley fan, we knew we had found gold. Fast forward to March 2023 where, in the peak of March Madness, the University of Houston advanced to the Sweet 16. As a means to rally the U of H Cougars fanbase and to remind do-nut lovers everywhere of their deep Houston roots, we proposed what started as a social stunt: rename the delicious Bear Claw to a Cougar Paw for as long as the Cougars remained in the game.

After the initial post reached more than 800,000 people organically, we took it a step further and implemented the name change IRL in all Houston-area shops. #GoCoogs
